We are lucky to have the Transport Interchange in the centre of Doncaster with linked rail and bus facilities. The branch makes full use, during some of its socials, of the rail and bus links available to it. .
Similarly, visitors to the city centre can take advantage of the transport connections to come and easily visit the pubs in the town centre and with the city centre map on this website, find their way about.
In these difficult times, our abilities to get to some of the towns and villages in our branch area is difficult either because bus services no longer exist, or the frequency of the service does not allow enough time to visit the destination. We regularly highlight these issues in our branch magazine called Donny Drinker and support campaigns by CAMRA at a regional and national level.
Doncaster Railway Station
This is situated on the main London to Edinburgh line and also has connections to many local, regional and national stations. Most of our city-centre pubs are situated within easy walking distance of the station.
For further information on the station, its facilities, bookings and trains please click here. You can also use trainline app.
Bus Services
We are proud of our excellent bus services but in recent times, like many parts of the country, we have seen a deterioration in services and some parts of the branch area are now either difficult or impossible to get to. We regularly arrange socials that involve the local transport services either by bus and/or train. These can be found on the socials section of this website and in Donny Drinker.
We have a small team of members who regularly visit pubs within the branch area by bus where possible. This enables the branch to monitor what is happening in the pubs but to also test the effectiveness of using the local transport services. Below is a list of all the bus services that start from the Interchange and their final destinations as currently advertised. Their frequencies are variable but we encourage you to use the digital services that the bus companies provide to check on the availability and times of the buses.
For South Yorkshire please go to the Travel South Yorkshire website at travelsouthyorkshire.com or they can be contacted on 08009520002.
First bus can be contacted on their website (firstbus.co.uk/doncaster) and they also have a very useful app where you can monitor where the buses are on their journeys.
Some services are provided by Stagecoach and their website can be found at stagecoachbus.com.
